The “Yo-Yo Ma of tandoori cooking,” Mathur has been a featured chef at the James Beard House and has cooked authentic tandoori food on numerous television shows. In 2018, chef Mathur and his wife Surbi Sahn opened their sixth New York restaurant – Saar Indian Bistro – which blends a taste of modern India with traditional tandoori cooking.
