Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups maida
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¾ cups buttermilk
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Cut the butter into small pieces, then set aside. In a big bowl, combine maida, baking soda, baking powder, and sugar, mixing together evenly. Then, add the butter chunks and mix with hands. Add in buttermilk and mix all ingredients to bind the dough.
  2. Roll the dough to give it a round shape. Spread some flour on a board and place dough on it, then flatten with your hands to ½ inch thickness. Cut the dough into individual circles for your biscuits. Place the biscuits on a buttered baking sheet at a distance from each other and grease all biscuits with butter.
  3. Place biscuits in an oven at 350º F in the middle rack of your oven for 15 minutes. Once golden brown, the biscuits are ready to remove from the oven.
